This is a difficult involved subject.  One common cause is untreated ot inadequately treated hypothyroidism (a &quot;sluggish&quot; thyroid).
For this you might ask tio see an endocrinologist, as in some communities they may be more accurate in their diagnosis and treatment
than non-specialists.
